To update an A record on Network Solutions, you can follow these steps:

  • Log in to your Network Solutions account.
  • Go to the “Manage My Domains” section and click on the domain you want to update.
  • Click on the “DNS Management” tab.
  • Scroll down to the “A Records” section.
  • Locate the A record you want to update and click the “Edit” button next to it.
  • Enter the new IP address in the “Address” field.
  • Click the “Save Changes” button to update the A record.

You will want your website to show up with or without www, follow the instructions below to add a record for “www”.

  • Within the DNS management section, locate the option to add a new record. This is usually named “Add New Record” or “Add Record.”
  • Select CNAME as the record type. Choose “CNAME” from the available record types.
  • In the “Alias” or “Host” field, enter “www”. This indicates that you’re creating a CNAME record for the “www” subdomain.
  • In the “Points to” or “Destination” field, enter the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or the domain name of the website or service you want “www” to point to. For example, if you want “www” to point to “example.com,” enter “example.com” in this field.
  • Save the changes. Click on the “Save” or “Add” button to save the CNAME record.
  • If a record already exists for www, click the “edit” button next to it and enter the domain name of the website.

It may take some time for the changes to propagate across the internet. You can check the status of the update by using a tool like “ping” or “nslookup” to see if the domain name resolves to the correct IP address.
